In this modern society in America, this land of plenty and opulence we have gotten the idea that persecution can never come to our land. But do you know that in places on this planet right now, Christians are suffering persecution? Saints in parts of Indonesia, are actually giving their lives for the Lord Jesus Christ. In China, in parts of Africa, other places, people that name the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and preach and teach that Jesus is the only means of salvation, and are suffering persecution as a result.

Every saint of God needs to realize that there are forces in our society that want to do away with the name of Jesus. It’s not politically correct for chaplains in the navy and the army and the other branches of the armed forces to pray in the name of Jesus. Some chaplains have been reprimanded. Some have been court martialed. In some courts and trials, men used the name of Jesus and then were forbidden by the judge to use that name again in the courtroom. There are organized, well financed forces in this nation that wants to remove every vestige of Christianity, just like the Council of old in the book of Acts. They gave the Apostles an ultimatum. If you continue to teach and preach, we will bring you into question and into court again and put you behind bars. And that they did.

The Fulness of God

What is your belief concerning the Lord Jesus Christ? Do you believe that Jesus Christ is fully God? Do you believe that He is part God and part man, when He was on the earth? Do you believe that He’s one-third God and the reason why I say one-third is that is the traditional viewpoint of the Godhead, that so many of us have been taught, the traditional belief of the Godhead, and then you cut that into thirds, like you would cut a pie, and you have God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, but are those three terms found anywhere in the Bible?

We find the terms Lord God. We find the term the Son of God. We find the term the Spirit of God, but do we find the terms, God the Father, as opposed to God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit? In other words, you’re giving each member of the Godhead a title of God. Now that word, Godhead, should basically be translated Deity.

Paul tells Timothy the mystery of godliness, and this mystery doesn’t mean a mystery hidden. It means a mystery revealed, and godliness is the plan or the economy of God. It says, 1. God was manifest in the flesh, 2. He was justified in the Spirit, 3. He was seen of angels, 4. He was preached, He preached unto the Gentiles,5. believed on in the world, and 6. He was received up into glory.

Has Christianity adopted some of the ways of the heathen? Has Christianity through syncretism, just kind of give a little here and give a little there and, and make our Christianity compatible with that of the heathen nations where we won't offend them? Well, we have in too many ways, in too many times, we have done that. We have compromised. But we must understand, we must understand that Christianity is not a religion, true Apostolic Christianity is not a religion of signs and symbols. Basically the only two rites that the New Testament gives the Christian is water baptism and communion. And other than that, we don't need symbols. We don't need flags. We don't need a lot of the things that other religions have. Now the shield of David or the star of David, or it's oftentimes found in pictures, in Sunday School books with David and his soldiers, King David that is, and his soldiers going out to war with this six-pointed star on it. But there's no proof that they ever had that six-pointed star on their shields.

America Shattered Reflection

A nation’s culture is the result of the Church’s doctrine and practice. The preachers become permissive, the nation becomes permissive. Our nation has changed, greatly changed. It’s no longer the nation that we grew up in. Now there’s a difference between country and government. We love our country. We should. The great land of the free and the home of the brave, the United States of America and we’re proud of this great country, but I’m not always proud of our government, the things that they allow, the things that the Supreme Court will allow, and the type of men, some of the men, that is, that’s in the Executive and Legislative and Judicial branches of our government.

It seems as though that the United States is no longer a democratic Republic, but it has become an empire. You might say, well what’s the difference between a democratic Republic and an empire? A democratic Republic represents the people, the people of that nation, the people of that country, that supports that country and the citizens of that country, and defends that country. Now it appears as though we have become an empire.

Did St. Paul actually make a physical visit to what we now call Great Britain? There is good historical evidence taken from different historians in the past, to show that the Apostle Paul actually went to Great Britain and he preached there. It’s extremely important that we know where we come from and it’s extremely important to know the history of the, the route of the Gospel, the track that it took and those involved to bring us the Gospel in this day in which we live.

It’s extremely important that we understand some things because we are living in a nation that has lost its way. We are living in a nation that has gone after the way of the heathen. In fact, we are even, even living in a church age that has now gone after the heathen, the ways of the heathen. That’s one of the warnings that God gave Israel in the Old Testament, is, do not follow the ways of the heathen.

Is there really a future seven year tribulation? Does the Bible really teach that there is going to be a future seven year span of tribulation on this earth? Which is ordinarily called the great tribulation. We want to go through in detail some of the things that our Lord said in Matthew 24.

Matthew 24 has been that chapter that has been used to come up with a lot of different ideas concerning the future and it is applied to our generation. Does it really apply? Does Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 really just apply to our generation as the last days? The teachings that have been based upon these chapters talks about first of all, a rapture, that is to take place and then immediately after that rapture a seven year period. Where all kinds of terrible, horrible, horrendous things and conditions are going to exist on this earth. The Reformation fathers had the interpretation that Matthew 24 took place and applied to the Judah nation in the First Century. it applied to them because of their rejection of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. But the Roman Catholic Church in their counter reformation came up with different ideas because they had to take the heat off of the Papacy because the Reformation fathers went ahead in their interpretation and identified Pagan Rome and then Papal Rome as the seat of the beast.
